Flying Machine - Anchorage

This restaurant appears to function primarily as a buffet for hotel guests. However, the buffet prices are quite steep. The menu for ordered meals is more reasonably priced, but the choices are quite limited. We tried the salmon lox, which was outstanding. Although the service was somewhat disorganized, it remained friendly and positive. The atmosphere was lovely, featuring a nice view of the lake with pontoon planes taking off.

I visited this restaurant in January during my vacation and stayed at the hotel nearby. Our reservation included vouchers for the restaurant, which we took full advantage of. It was incredibly convenient to have it located just downstairs, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food! Everything was fresh and delicious, with no complaints from my side. The sourdough pancakes were particularly soft and moist, and I really enjoyed the jam that accompanied them! The coffee was always hot and plentiful. Although the service was occasionally short-staffed, the team managed to handle it well and did a fantastic job. Thank you!

Once the best breakfast spot in Anchorage, now it's a place to avoid on weekends at all costs! The weekend breakfast buffet is terrible—a disappointing and poorly prepared selection for $25 per person. The à la carte menu used to be top-notch, but now it's just a mess. The food is soggy, the French toast is rock hard, and everything is served with plastic spoons and drinkware. It's truly disappointing.

LMAO, I worked at the Flying Machine in 78/79. It was a strange up throwback disco. Absolutely wild. The whole place was just one building, nothing like today. Great time, great friends unforgettable memories!Yours truly, Boston

Had Alaskan King Crab Artichoke dip Bison Burger. Crab dip was delicious. Bison burger didn't taste much different than a normal beef burger, sadly !!Unfortunately it wasn't all that busy but the server covered a very large area. She did the best she could.
