The food is good and the timing is not so good punctuality).
Really nice chef. Rice was delicious. Several options. They don't accept online orders even if you see on Doordash or other sites, but come and pick up some good rice in minutes if you're in the area.
There are some places where you have to think long and hard before you 're able to decide on a rating... this is not one of those places. Easy 5 stars all day! I have been looking for a place with good kimchi fried rice and I think I finally found it! While I was ordering the woman pointed to some customers who must be regulars here because they said it best, we 've tried a lot of Korean fried rice and the K Town fried rice here is better than most of the Korean restaurants. I would have to agree. I 've been to several places to satisfy my kimchi fried rice cravings and they have gone from either too bland or way too fermented/sour kimchi flavor that overpowers everything else. They 've struck the perfect balance here and I was really impressed. The K-Town Fried Rice aka Kimchi Fried Rice has bold flavors and is savory and acidic from the kimchi they use. They give a side of kimchi with the fried rice and it is great kimchi. Whether they make it or purchase it, they made the right choice. For me I wish the kimchi was spicier but that 's just personal preference. It had the right amount of fermented flavor and acidity that cut through the fried rice. They also give a ton of limes which I didn 't think was necessary because the kimchi already provides the right amount of acid. The fried rice also comes with bacon and they had a decent amount of it in there. It added smokiness and little pops of salty goodness in each bite. If they added bits of spam in there for a meat lovers option, it would make it even better. The egg was a little undercooked for me which would probably be my only real bit of feedback. I like a runny yolk, but the egg was so jiggly and the whites were still really slimy. This isn 't really that big of a deal because I know that I can probably ask for it to be cooked a little more next time. These days it is hard to find service that makes you want to tip them and give them your money. The service alone was very impressive. The three employees that I was able to interact with a bit were extremely friendly and welcoming. They seem to really love what they do and that really makes a difference. The way the woman interacted with the regular customers asking them to tell me how good the fried rice is was heart warming. I even witnessed them giving those regulars an extra item as a surprise. It 's things like this that makes you want to support their business. As long as the food and service continues to impress me, this food truck will have my continued support. I told the guy who I assume to be one of the owners that it was my first time and he said that he hopes that they will be able to wow me. Indeed, I am wowed. The menu is pretty small only having a few fried rice dishes and Thai style rice dishes and some appetizers, but that 's what makes the quality so great. I do have to admit the prices are on the higher side (even higher if you go for the filet mignon and lobster) but I 'm willing to pay for it as long as the quality remains as good as my first impression. This food truck is open late night which is perfect for a post Disneyland meal or if you have the munchies. I recommend checking them out because you don 't find a ton of places like this too often. Already thinking about when I 'll be coming back for more!
A little while ago, I was searching on Yelp for a place to eat late at night and found this food truck. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to check it out and boy, it did not disappoint! This is some of the best fried rice I've had. I love that they put their own unique spin on every popular version of fried rice including Thai, Spanish, Hawaiian, and more. I know the price may originally deter some people but once you try it, the price is absolutely reasonable. The portions are HUGE enough for 2 meals and the quality of the ingredients definitely shine through. A fried egg also comes with your meal and it's not an extra add on like most places. Fried rice is also such an easy dish to warm up as left overs in case you don't finish! Now, my boyfriend and I would just share one entrée and an appetizer and it's enough to fill us up. We haven't had a chance to try all the options yet but we love The K town (kimchi fried rice with bacon and the Spanish Phly (chorizo, awesome green sauce, and queso fresco...oh my... . To make the experience even better, the owners are incredibly kind! I enjoy speaking with them each time I come and they make everyone feel very welcomed. They are parked at Harbor and Chapman, conveniently in the same strip mall as Ding Tea if you need your boba fix. Another bonus is that they're usually there pretty late! I HIGHLY recommend trying them out if you get the chance!
