Mare Nostrum

We ate here several times both for breakfast and dinner at a recent stay at Pueblo Bonita Blanco. It's a buffet for breakfast and dinner. I agree with another commenter that the quality of the food at the dinner buffet wasn't always great, though we were overall really happy with the breakfast buffet. The whole point to us of doing something all inclusive is so that we can turn our brains off and just relax without having to plan or make a lot of choices, and for that a buffet is great as there's typically something for everyone. At least from what we saw, the breakfasts were very similar spreads, with an omelette bar, really great french toast, a bunch of fruit and juice options, ceviche, a big pastry spread, and then everything else you'd expect in a nice breakfast buffet. The Sunday brunch was especially good, adding a bunch of meat options and sushi. The dinners there were rotating themes every night. I think we were there for an international night and an Argentinian night. The quality of food was a little more hit or miss for dinner, though there was a wide selection for each of those nights, including a bunch of healthy options and salads in addition to pasta, meat, and a bunch of desserts. There was also a very adorable kitten that lived nearby and that would come and play on quiet nights. Service was great, super attentive. I wanted to especially call out Jose Luis and Yareth, who waited on us two nights there and who were very friendly, accommodating, and entertaining. Our high school aged daughter is learning Spanish and they took time to speak to her slowly in Spanish, which was great. Really appreciated their service and attention.

Tuvimos un almuerzo en Mare Nostrum durante nuestra estancia en el Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort, y fue una experiencia realmente excelente. La vista desde el restaurante era espectacular y la atmósfera era relajante y placentera. La comida estaba deliciosa y el servicio fue excepcional. Apreciamos la atención del personal y su disposición para hacer recomendaciones basadas en nuestras preferencias. Fueron amables y acogedores, y se aseguraron de que tuviéramos una experiencia de almuerzo maravillosa. En resumen, recomendamos encarecidamente almorzar en Mare Nostrum. La comida estaba excelente, el servicio fue impecable y la vista era impresionante. Si buscas un almuerzo delicioso con una gran vista, Mare Nostrum definitivamente merece la pena visitar.

Mare Nostrum is the main restaurant at the Pueblo Bonita Rosé. It also happens to be a buffet. I thought the breakfast buffet was better than dinner buffet. I found the Sunday Brunch to be the best option of all. With plenty of foods to select from, it's put together decently and the visual presentation is brilliant. It's a solid buffet, but very Americanized, I reckon the food could use more flavor...most of it is bland. The wait staff is pleasant, attentive and on top of your needs.
