Contribuiți la feedbackA place to have amazingly home style pizzas at reasonable price. A regular size pizza is a good to go for 2 people and a full meal for a single person . Any pizza and a fresh lime soda is a good combination to go with . Ambience of the place is not so great not so bad but the food is great .
Back here after 4 years. Somehow seems smaller than I remember it. The store inside definitely has a smaller selection.<br/ <br/ The food, however, is still pretty good. The chocolate crepes went oddly well with fries. Shame I hadn't come later, or I'd have tried the pizza too.
Chez Nous is a tiny little cafe almost as if it's in a souvenir shop. Each table cannot seat more than four people and so a meal with group of friends feels like a family affair. <br/ <br/ There are two ladies at the cafe, one who serves the food and one who prepares the food and they both speak in fluent English like most people in Pondicherry. We ordered a 4Cheese Pizza and oh my this was amazing! I felt the taste of every single cheese melting in my mouth. We all ordered Nutella Crepes and that was heavenly too. <br/ It was a perfect Easter morning brunch.
Exactly opposite to CCD near the beach, Chez Nous is inside La Maison D'Auroville. A cozy little joint which mainly makes French food but also specializes in Wood Fired Oven pizza.<br <br Appetizers Multiple variants of salads, fries, the usual dig. Doesn't really have much to comment. Since there are various options in the entrée, I'd suggest you skip the appetizers.<br <br Entrée The pizza menu has quite a spread. From Classic Basil and Mozzarella to meat and seafood toppings.. The cheese was sublime, although the taste and thickness of the sauce and base's texture could be improved a little, the overall pizza was quite good.<br <br Crepes In Indian terms its a maida dosa with filling. But don't let that description ruin the option. The crepes are well cooked and have a decent amount of filling. The Cheese and egg crepe was a tad bland but that's mainly because of the lack of veggies and other ingredients which could have added to flavor.<br <br The Nutella crepe was brilliant!<br <br Scrambled Eggs with Bread was a bit of surprise. The eggs were scrambled with pickles, jalapeños, tomatoes, and cheese. Served with a side of bread(not toast. Bread.)the scrambled eggs were a delight.<br <br Beverages Carrot and Apple juice hit the spot to wrap up a good meal. Lemon juice was made to proper specifications, was more in terms of quantity.<br <br Ambience Service La Maison D'Auroville doubles as a heritage store, offering a wide range of organic products, soaps, tea, handbags, bowls, plates, mugs, stickers, shirts, jewellery, fragrance sticks(agarbatti), etc. Seating is comfortable. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. Service was quick and straightforward.<br <br Expenditure 200+ 100<br Tips No service charges. Consider leaving a tip. <br <br Verdict Worth a visit considering that they make some pretty palatable French food. The pizza is definitely worth a second try.
We dropped in on a Friday night when the restaurant was about to close. We were happy they helped feed hungry souls after a long travel from Chennai.<br/ <br/ The ambience is filled with the best aromas of incense sticks, the variegated porcelain mugs, tees and paper products from Auroville, and the restaurant is cosy. Orders were taken swiftly. We ordered for Auroville Ginger and Lemon syrup (my favourite Hibiscus syrup was out of stock) and Iced tea, Garlic bread, a vegetarian Tera pizza and a roasted chicken based Fusion pizza with toppings of our choice jalapeño and oregano, and finally, the Seafood platter. <br/ <br/ To begin with, the drinks could have been cooler, ice could have been added at least. The garlic bread took us by surprise; the bread was thin and non greasy, and was actually the base of the pizza, the garlic pieces lightly roasted with minimal herbs. The pizzas were, by the rule, thin crust, crunchy and lightly baked, the tomato sauce spread and cheese were perfect. Loved the way the thin pieces of the roasted chicken blended with the cheese and our choice of toppings. I wanted to stop at that but then came the sea food platter which was a visual and gustatory delight. The whole fish was the best item on the platter with a lemon wedge generously squeezed on top. The prawns and calamari needed a sprinkle of salt to get their flavour. The prawns especially need a worthy mention they were fresh and as I exclaimed, 'the smell of the sea is still there. '<br/ <br/ I wonder why I had never come to this place earlier when it is so close to where we stay each time we come to Pondy.
