Contribuiți la feedbackHad to change rating after second visit. My second pizza wasn 't prepared as ordered, and it just wasn 't as good, overall. Disappointed. Looking forward to their next incarnation in the Northtowns so I can give them a third try.Previous review:This goes out to all of those who normally go to Bocce.Does this taste like Bocce pizza? Yes and no. If you like Bocce should you try this? Yes.This was my first time trying Bailey Ave Pizza, and the pizza ordered was a half size with pepperoni and mushroom.Appearance: Chock full of toppings, and rectangular as opposed to half-circular. Cut into 8 equal-sized squares. I 'm impressed with size and presentation. Pizza completely filled box, from corner to corner. Nice. Can barely make out the cheese through the abundant toppings. Some cup and char happening, good sign.First bite: Lifting slice out, it 's got some heft to it and droopage from weight of toppings. That 's fine by me, I don 't like a stiff bottom. Sink in teeth, and- mmmm, ok! We have a contender, folks! Favorable first bite impression! Nice and fresh, chewy but not too soft on that dough. So you 've got a nice mix of bite, crunch and chew, if that 's your jam. I might even detect a slight buttery-ness here? Not sure, but I like it. Fresh, pleasant texture and taste. And then all those toppings! I wonder if this is normal, or an extra special treatment due to being newly opened and attempting to impress. With so much sitting on top, there 's a tendency for bite over-draw.. You know what I mean? When more toppings than you 're expecting pull off with one bite? Lol. Again, that 's ok, I like it! Yum.Taste profile: Nice spiciness on the 'ronis. They are more uniform in size and thickness than Bocces. Perfect little circles. Abundant. Nicely finished with some dark charred edges, and yeah, little pools inside, too. Mushrooms remind me exactly of Bocces. Plenty of them. Good. Sauce? Fine. Not overly applied, though. No surprise gobs. I like the odd extra sauce puddle every so often... this wasn 't a feature of this particular pie. I think the flavor profile on the sauce is also close to Bocces, tending towards sweet and not super garlicky. The cheese- now- other than being almost completely MIA under the blanket of toppings, the cheese was fine. Maybe even perfect, because it didn 't hit me one way or the other, you know? It did what you want your cheese to do. Hold things together and pull, etc... good gooey-ness, basically. The crust: this pie stretches the toppings all. the. way. to the border-land, so what you 're left with is a nicely balanced, fair bit of crust for your chewing pleasure. Just enough to get that sensation of end-piece. Compared to Bocces, there 's less of a crust experience- but I 'm not complaining. There 's more pizza going on here than huge crust. Considering that a wide swath of crust actually equates to mostly unadorned, plain bread... I 'm totally on board!Final impression: Ultimate answer- Do I want to order from Bailey again? Yes! Even though they trend higher in price, the product justified it. At least this pizza did. Can 't wait to see how they do in the neighborhood and continue to perform in a highly competitive area. Best of luck, guys! (Oh, sidenote: I met the owner on this occasion and he was terrific. Engaging and caring. Glad to have met him on my first visit!
The pizza was not well done enough. I ordered a can coke and it was not given to me with my order. when I went back for it they acted like they didn't want to give it to me. The order was 45 minutes and it was over and hour when I received it. I want be back.
Fast service, never burnt cheese, will keep going bk
I've wanted to try this place for a while. I heard that their recipe was similar to Leonardi's which was SO good. Was really upset when they went out of business. Anyway, we ordered the 1\2 pizza with 10 wings. The wings were awesome and the bleu cheese was really good, it must be homemade but it was a little garlicky. Now on to the pizza. I posted a picture and it LOOKED delicious when we opened the box. Got pepperoni and mushroom with extra cheese. First the dough was not cooked enough, it was very dougy, and very sweet like it had a lot of sugar in it. And the sauce was not that good, it was sweet also but not in a good way. Plus yes there was a lot of cheese but hardly any pepperoni and even less mushrooms. I'll just say the pizza as a whole was just ok, NOTHING like Leonardi's!! Will we try them again? Maybe, maybe not, it was very expensive and Bocce is much better.
As is our custom lately, we have been ordering wings weekly in an effort to continue supporting local businesses. I was skeptical of this place at first, but we rolled the dice on somewhere new and experience was mostly good. My wife and I got an order of 30 wings, hot and saucy. The guys here really took the saucy request seriously, so much so that when I picked them up the guy at the counter asked me to open them and make sure they were saucy enough (which I loved). They were saucy enough and also plenty hot. Beautifully cooked and good size, I really enjoyed the wings we got here. On top of that I enjoyed the Bleu cheese, which is important in my opinion. The reason I say that the experience was mostly good was because there was unfortunately an issue with our order. We ordered a triple order (30 wings) and somehow we only ended up with 26 wings. It made for a nice dinner for two, but not much of a lunch the next day and honestly cost the review a star. I'm hoping the counting issue was just a one time gaffe, but overall it was a good trip and I'll definitely be back.
