Chop Chop Rice Co. - Amarillo

Joe W. made us feel like family. He told us the menu and made our daughter smile. Loved the music and atmosphere. Food was excellent and very fast. People here seemed to love their job. It was a refreshing experience.

Unfortunately, our experience at Chop Chop was disappointing. While driving through Amarillo we decided to find the highest rated restaurant we could and eat there. Considering that this place had a 4.7 rating with over a thousand reviews, we had to find out what this was all about! But having tried it, I can't imagine how this restaurant was rated higher than everywhere else. Don't get me wrong, it's an okay fast food Chinese place, but the food we were served was bland, overcooked, and not particularly tasty. I had the chicken and shrimp teriyaki with fried rice, but they forgot to bring the teriyaki. When I did get some teriyaki sauce, it was as runny as water and it did nothing to add flavor to the overcooked chicken or the flavorless rice. Outside of the actual food quality, the rest of our experience was not great either. There was a pricing discrepancy between the menu on the wall and what the register attempted to charge, the staff was new and not very aware of the menu or processes, and we were even bugged by flies at the table. I can't give more than 3 stars, and I feel that's a little generous. We were left wishing we had tried another local establishment because I don't think this can be representative of the top restaurants in Amarillo.

I really didn't expect much above average and I was so wrong – this will be a new way to see for us. The food is fast, delicious, and they are able to make most of their options gluten-free! I'm still not over how good the food is!! The price was also reasonable for SUPER – about 10/10!

Chop Chiff is great. I love you can get low carb options like cauliflower rice or extra vegetables. The rice is brilliant if you don't make low carbs. I miss the old ginger sauce. The choice of sauce is even the best in the city.

The first time even in this place. I wish we had this in our hometown, it was fast and phenomenal. Come to think about it, maybe I wouldn't want anyone in my hometown, because I'd eat there all the time. We tried most sauces. My favorites are the orange chicken sauce and the sweet chili.
