Berggasthof Hahnenkamm - Alzenau

My 87-year old vater has found this tower with the restaurant hidden below. over the 65 years the trees had hidden them. but the hunting worth. views from the tower were 360 degrees from awesome. we rewarded ourselves with a great lunch together. beer and a schnapps. on a hill east of frankfurt it is worth finding this historic place.

Take time and rely on the beautiful concept of cozyness. a good beer, a hearty snack and a conversation with the youngs the next table. ideal for families and the right location for a break on a promenade in the surrounding forests....Missant eating, service depending on the number of guests, keep cool and enjoy.

In general, again wonderful weather to shake the November blues in the free nature. Together with my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, my wife and I therefore took a hike to the Hahnenkamm, the highest point of the type of spears, and knew that there is a mountain inn where you can relax after the strenuous hike. From our car park at the Hohler Chaussee it was easy to reach and half an hour uphill. We also took the same path, but climbed the view tower with magnificent views of the Main Valley to Frankfurt and the Odenwald. After I'm probably not here for 30 years, I guess it won't last until we get back. Operation The Devil was of course this day. We were lucky and were able to get a table inside the inn for us five, where only 4 people were left. An attentive service immediately cleared the empty glasses of the predecessors, greeted us kindly and we could lay the menu on the table (one day ticket for Sunday?). In the meantime, the beverage requests were interrogated and quickly brought. When there was: 3 non-alcoholic wheat (sleepstick, 0.5 l, 2,90 €, apple choir, 0.4 l, 2,80 €, 0.2 l, 1,60 €). The drinks were well cooled, not too cold. After a glass was empty, it was immediately asked if a drink still needs. This is how the push-up worked smoothly. The food was served at the same time and whether it tasted was also of interest. Removal of food was fast. In general, the girls of the service had full control over three guest rooms despite their entire house and proved a great overview, especially as they also served the outdoor area where there was much to do. Warm blankets were ready for the guests for each table. For the service deserved 3.5 stars, which I like up to 4 for the above reasons. The menu had a number of 2 soups, chickens, deer roasts, goose skin, scavengers, vasper dishes, such as sausage, baked camembert etc. I chose the sausages with sour spice, peas bread (6,90 € ), the others all took the cheese carving with pommes (10,90 € , once a small field salad. For the little ones there was the cleanser plate (0.00 € ), which they filled with smokers from the adult cellars. My sausages were coarse, exactly according to my taste, the sour wort was nicely soft, but not boiled, good in taste and in accordance with the sauce on the plate (see photo). The carvings were in each case 2, rubbed, wetted slightly with the cheese, the rest of the cheese on the plate has every taste. The pommes were plentiful, nice crispy and of good color (see photo). Both the offer on the menu and the dishes were right for a return and recovery after a hike. Those who wanted to enjoy themselves tastefully with beautiful large pieces of different sheet metal cakes and the associated coffee, of course, there was also there. However, we were so tired that we could not use this really good offer. For food I give 3,3 stars, it was as you expected in such a situation, no more, but also no less. The ambience 3 rooms with different cuts. Everything rustic, practical, but also cozy. You feel comfortable despite the urge. A place with all his facets. Cleanliness I noticed nothing negative. The toilet system is in perfect condition. Conclusion: Here the claim to the situation and the guests agree with reality. The situation alone is worth a visit.

Freundliche Bedienung. Gutes Deftiges Essen und tolle Lage runden den Berggasthof Hahnenkamm ab. Ein wenig Abzug gibts beim Kaffee welcher nicht wirklich überragend war. Dennoch ein Besuch mehr als wert.
