We visited chefe joao some times during our holiday to alvor. eating is excellent as the service and prices are competitive. I have a special feeling for their fish dishes cooked on the grill, but all dishes are very...good the staff is also very friendly and efficient. in most evenings booking is essential.

Not a place for fine eating, but good honest fish and meat dishes. the salmon and lambs come very recommended we went twice in our last vacation. price very reasonable. booking recommended.

We have been visiting alvor for over 25 years and always book a table here when we stay. we booked the other night for the following night and the daughter took our booking. When we arrived the next night, we were warmly welcomed by her and were shown to our table. when we did, the waiter who was behind the bar called over the restaurant that we couldn't have the table. he had made a booking at the same time. the daughter showed us the book and our booking showed before she tried to explain that our reservation was in the book, but unfortunately she lost the argument and we were told that we could not have the table. very disappointing as we have been loyal customers for so long. the waiter needs a lection to improve his customer service skills that are not existent and more important some maniacs!
