Barca D' Alvor

Visiting from Ireland we dropped in here for brekfast. Lovely food service and prices. Spotless clean. Run by a husband and wife absolute lady and gentleman. We will be back.

Having taken a bus trip to Alvor using our Vamus tourist card we decided to stop for lunch before our return to Carvoeiro. Bifana, cheese and ham toastie and a couple of beers hit the spot nicely. The lovely lady who owns the cafe is a double for Julie Walters in the 'Two Soups ' sketch, although no food was spilled!

Our first visit here was not great, excellent full English Breakfast, but a wait of 45 minutes to get it, on our second visit we decided to sit inside and then all became clear, the Kitchen is one hot plate, a Toaster, a Microwave and a kettle, how they manage to produce so many meals of the quality they do is just miraculous, so if you want a truly excellent Breakfast and don 't mind waiting for it, this is the place to come.

We have eaten here quite a few times we had had delicious fresh quality breakfasts. I have had steak twice which is absolutely beautiful and tender. While Rich has had steak and today Piri Piri chicken. All cakes are beautifully made and take it from us are delicious. Such a wonderful welcoming couple Caroline and Jorge and their lovely son Steve. We shall always pop in there. If you want quality and good pricing you would me mad not visit

We have eaten here in past years but this year there was not the same service or food. Our orders were mixed up, we didn't get what we ordered but were charged more than we should have.
