Nacional6 - Álvaro Obregón

I´ve been to nacional 6 for a couple of times already. A few times with friends and a few with friends, all of them great options to visit Nacional 6. The food is great and it offers a nice atmosphere for drinks.

Went to this cozy restaurant today and we had a wonderful lunch with the family. The restaurant is very nice. Loved the ambiance. The service was perfect. The whole staff was very nice. They have a great menu. Everything looked delicious. We decided to share an artichoke that was amazing !!! Then everyone had a different meat cut. We all were very happy with our choices. Would go back for sure !!!!

We went, not knowing they had special buffet for sundays. Of coarse the price pushes you to stay with the buffet...but I don't think it's the right option. The food in the buffet was no big deal, choices limited....salads were poor. Pasta with garlic was really good and the spinach empanadas. (someone told me the shrimp empanadas were good too). Some of the platters were already empty, and they took a long time to get refilled. Bread rolls were out of reach. I didn't feel the quality of food in the buffet was very good really. Poorly presented and poorly served for a buffet. ALSO, You can't serve yourself, because there is a lady waiter serving from the platters. That is the way they limit the people from serving themselves too much. At the time you want to get up and serve yourself something else, they change your plate...so if you are a person that serves yourself little tastes before choosing what more you want to have, well you get kind of embarrassed to have used 2 or three plates. I felt the waiters were pushy...pushing for the buffet, pushing what else to drink the second you finish your present drink, taking away plates when you are not finished completely, taking the service off before knowing if you want more dessert. I DON'T LIKE PUSHY WAITERS NOR PEOPLE WATCHING MY EVERY MOVE. What was really amazing was having the manager walk around the tables and asking what was needed. He seemed to do a great job with managing the place. The meat, every cut, was delicious! THE REASON WHY I AM GIVING THE RESTAURANT 4 STARS IS because I think food quality from the menu options must be higher, and the steaks were really amazing. Choosing well must be a MUST here. WHAT I RECOMMEND is that if you want to try this restaurant, order from the menu.....a better bet to get what you really came for, more gourmet, cooked on the moment dishes (not food that sits in a buffet platter)..plates all looked amazing on the menu. I also think desserts must be different from the menu options. I HOPE SO, because the desserts on the buffet table were......whipped cream with cut peaches, chocolate whipped cream with crumbled oreos, fruit salad, a mango type mousse squares, a chocolate fluffy tart, and a baked pear with fill dough. The phyllo dough with the baked pear was the only good dessert (they need a more attractive look for their desserts on the buffet, they looked homemade versions, and not from a good cook...sorry). One more thing.....the terrace was nice (looks nicer in pictures), yet the inside restaurant is more elegant, nicer and more romantic look. So Choose depending on your occasion and time of day. At night, the terrace could look nicer than at daytime.

Nacional6 offers outstanding food and exceptional hospitality. After being turned away from an eatery across the street because it was almost closing time (approaching 6pm on a Sunday), we were warmly welcomed by the staff at Nacional6 and promptly seated in its lovely, tranquil courtyard. Given a choice of an extensive a la carte menu and the extensive all-you-can eat buffet with western Mediterranean-style salads, antipasto, entrees, pastas, and dessert, we opted for the buffet, and it was delicious. Further, our gracious and attentive waiter, Rene, encouraged us to linger and savor our meal by offering wine and coffee – even though unbeknownst to us, Nacional6 also was preparing to close. We were extremely impressed by Rene’s excellent service and the quality of the food and were delighted for the opportunity to express our appreciation with Mr. Morales, the restaurant’s capitán and a wonderful gentleman. I heartily and enthusiastically recommend Nacioual6 and look forward to a return visit.

This restaurant has excellent service with extraordinary international cuisine. The grilled salmon and tuna are fantastic. Ask for the rib-eye and shrimp tacos. Also the three cheese pasta is very good. The day I visited there were very few people, which created a private and romantic environment with very good service.
