In particular I liked the second courses presented on a bed of salad. Helpful and courteous owner, very patient with children even if they are busy. Small but welcoming place. Wonderful frescoes on the roof.
A Milanese in Altamura? Well, it works! Small restaurant, a dozen tables, with local and non-local dishes. Altamura bread reigns supreme, with both land and sea products. Excellent starters and cuttlefish ink pasta.
Passing through Altamura, we thought we'd stop in this place for lunch, also to taste the famous local bread. The restaurant is a distinguished and elegant place; the placement of the wines on the shelves, positioned along the side walls of the room, is extremely spectacular. We ordered the orecchiette with cherry tomatoes, rocket and cheese; tagliolini with courgette cream and a steak. Everything was to our liking. While waiting for our order to arrive, we were then served bruschetta accompanied by some local mozzarella (the plating was truly to be admired). It is right, however, to dedicate the final note to the staff. We were served by an extremely courteous, kind, friendly and nice man (I think he was the owner) who was also able to advise us on the choice of wine. His presence enriched our stay in the restaurant and brightened up our lunch! When we pass through Altamura, we will definitely return to this wonderful restaurant!
Because of rain we accidentally entered this restaurant since it was the only one open, but we came back the next day when we had other options to choose from as well. The food is very good and the owner is really very nice. With google translate, where he also really joined in, we understood the whole menu and he gave explanations with everything. We left the place with six bottles of the amazing house wine.
The food and wine were amazing and the service was wonderful! We had the antipasti Dela casa which had 7 different items that were all delicious and very filling. One of us had lamb and the other sea bass and then tiramisu.
