Etnocafe Zhaylau - Almaty

Guys, this place's service is a disaster. We ordered our meal and waited for 1 hour and a half. It was an important and a bit nervous meeting, that's why couldn't warn the waiters more than twice. But still why do we have to warn the waiters? They brought salad, appetizers each after each with 20 minutes stop. Two stars because of tasty food. But for the service minus 5 stars. Do not recommend this place unless you take away.

They have traditional Kazak interior, ambient food. They hardly understand English and that too little so it's difficult to order if you don't know English. Overall experience was fantastic except one dish that they told has no meat but had chicken. If you are vegetarian you need to be careful. They have bar shisha too.

My favourite restaurant in Almaty , I tryed cc. 7 restaurants in this city but the Zhaylau was the best. Original kazakh and uyghur cousine, and etno- music show. The uyghur style eggplant and fish was phenomenal tasty, and I tasted all kazakh style sweets , the national quark and grain balls and others. The etno-kazakh fusion music show was lively and virtuozy.

Traditional Khazak food is served here, with each dish having its own distinguished taste, very nice food with friendly staff. They also have a night club here should you want to burn of all your calories. Definitely worth a visit.
