Highland Blush Café - Alma

I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant, but unfortunately, it is permanently closed. There’s a "for sale" sign in the window, which is really disappointing. I’m sorry we never had the chance to try it.

I had lunch on a Friday and was surprised to find just one person managing the entire restaurant. He was handling everything – hosting, waiting tables, cooking, and cleaning – and while he did a commendable job given the circumstances, it would be helpful to have dedicated waitstaff to reduce the 45-minute wait for food. Regarding the food, I wasn't very impressed. I ordered the Ethel Waffle, expecting something more traditional, but it came topped with fresh grapes and apple slices instead of the seasonal fruit and ice cream mentioned on the menu. I had anticipated a warm compote but received just plain sliced fruit, with no syrup or any sweet toppings. We tried it, but I don't think we'll be returning.

I visited this restaurant with my siblings for lunch, and unfortunately, the service was quite disappointing. Our server seemed disinterested and was in a bad mood throughout our visit. It took an hour for our food to arrive, and when it finally did, it was cold and tough. I can't recommend this place.

Excellent service, good food, lovely atmosphere. We showed up unannounced with a group of 7 for breakfast, and Damien was the only employee working. He kindly let us know that he was on his own, and proceeded to serve us as best as he could, which we were all more than pleased with. In summary, maybe give this place a heads up phone call if you plan to bring a group, but expect nothing less than a great experience regardless.

Ordered an iced honey lavender latte and was given a drink that visibly had 2 inches of syrup on the bottom. Thought that maybe it just hadn't been mixed yet so I stirred it and discovered the drink was CHUNKY. (And no, it wasn't boba) Not sure if the syrups were old or if it was the milk.. either way it was a little disturbing. Luckily my husband's drink wasn't chunky so we could at least share that.
