I felt overlooked by the bartender at the bar. Despite the fact that I arrived before several other customers, she chose to serve them instead. The bar was not crowded, so I was confused by her actions. I had never seen her before, so I couldn't understand why she ignored me.

We went to the restaurant expecting typical food for the establishment, but I specifically requested my steak to be cooked medium rare. However, what I received was a plate that was burning hot with food that was freezing cold. The steak was completely overcooked to the point of being like shoe leather. The mashed potatoes were cold, as well as everything else on the plate. The pepper sauce was lumpy, powdery, and cold. When I sent the plate back, I was informed that the bar manageress was cooking my food herself, leaving me wondering where the chef was. The second plate was not much better. I felt sorry for the embarrassed waiter and believe that the restaurant could do much better. The next day, I had a bad stomach, indicating that the food was not at the correct temperature. It was disappointing to see a 5-star rating displayed on the door after such a disappointing experience.

Cant give 0 stars but thats what this experience was. Will not be returning ... shocking customer service and treatment I experienced as a customer. Bar man was rude and on some form of power trip.

Visited for food and drinks before gig at Carnegie Theatre. Based in former cinema. Saturday afternoon and very busy. A bit of a weave around the closely positioned tables to get to the bar. The bar service was very good and we ordered food later which was good and served quickly especially considering how busy the pub was.

Second time here this week, Monday we were served by a bloke, could not care less, the area was scruffy. Today, what a difference, served by three lasses, all superb. They were on top of the table clearing and wiping, brilliant. Thanks girls. XXX
