Additionally, the toast and bread are sourced from a local bakery, Egypt Star Bakery, which was a nice touch in supporting other local businesses. I accidentally left my wallet at home and was short on cash, but the owner kindly allowed me to still place my order. This initial interaction left a positive impression on me. The overall experience was great, and I felt like I met someone who truly believes in the product they are selling. The restaurant is clean, situated in a nice area of town, and offers a good variety of options for different preferences. Even if you're not typically a fan of eating fruit and yogurt, I highly recommend stopping by.
I came here in a hurry, expecting it to be lower quality than Playa Bowls but still passable. However, upon entering, the strong smell of fish immediately turned me off, especially since they don't even serve fish. There was no visible menu, just a crumpled and stained printed menu on the counter. The employee taking our order had gloves on, but they touched their face, ate an apple, and then touched the cash register before handling our food with the same gloves. When I asked politely if they could change gloves before making our food, the employee gave me a disgusted look and hesitantly changed gloves. I should have requested a refund and cancelled our order right then and there. This place is a disappointing imitation of Playa Bowls, with even worse customer service and unacceptable hygiene practices. The health department should definitely investigate.
This restaurant has a blatant disregard for hygiene and poses a danger to customers. The fruit place has a foul smell that cannot be attributed to fruit alone. The person handling orders was observed eating with gloves on, then taking payment and continuing to handle food without changing gloves. When a customer requested fresh gloves, the employee expressed annoyance and reluctantly complied. Furthermore, the employee used a dirty blender that still had remnants from a previous customer's order to make a smoothie. To top it off, the employee contaminated the squirt bottle by touching it to a dirty countertop. This level of negligence is unacceptable and I will be reporting this to the health department. I strongly advise against visiting any frutta locations to avoid potential health risks.
My nephew worked for here for the owner John Sayegh and had an horrible experience! My nephew is an asylum seeker in our country, having just graduated high school, and starting his first job he shouldn’t have to deal with being threatened by his manager with immigration for deportation. This is unacceptable behavior, especially for an adult and business professional it’s disgusting and racist! I dont think anyone should ever want to work let alone eat at an establishment with this type of environment.
Tried this place for the first time and was pretty disappointed. The people were nice, not the quickest service but that was fine. Unfortunately the taste of the two smoothies we ordered was very poor. I don’t know if it was ingredients, recipe, or what, but $16 for two small watery smoothies was such a waste!
