We were headed back to our condo and I mentioned I had seen a neon light a couple blocks away, and wasn't sure what it was but let's go check it out. It turned out to be Harocamo, a wonderful little bistro. We walked in and asked to look at a menu and one look did it, we were at a table in minutes. The decor was warm and inviting, the menu complete and reasonably priced, the staff was very friendly and spoke perfect English. We started with a chicken salad that was wonderful and then had a Maxi burger, a beef patty with cheese, bacon, and a fried egg. Everything was wonderful. The salad, burger, and two litters of beer came to $33E a fair price for a great meal.
I have visited this place a numerous of times. The first time I had their famous maxi hamburger, wow, they do not forget the maxi bit out of the hamburger, it has it all bacon, egg etc... and I can eat however I could not finish it. They boast about the best hamburger in Alicante and by far they have achieved it. I talked to a friend of mine about the place and she already knew and had been going for years before me and anyone that I take or recommend to go, always come back completely satisfied and happy. They have loads of days were they have half price and offers such as menus for very good price especially for what you are paying for. It is such a shame that it is hidden off the street but do look for it, it is completely worth it. Plus the head waiter i was attended by you can definitely tell that he knew what he was talking about and was extremely helpful, if you have no idea what you want dont be shy and ask his recommendations are the best! You feel like a king or queen after eating there not only because of the atmosphere and the food but because they really know how to treat a customer which i believe now a days is hard to find. Very safe for children too.
I first came to this Restaurant about 40 years ago with my parents. At the time it was one of the only restaurants in Playa San Juan. I had forgotten the interior but was reminded when I saw the abundance of Tiffany light fittings, I had tried to go there during various visits to San Juan but now that most developments have security gates, I couldn't work out how to get in. We visited on a Sunday lunchtime and the pedestrian gate was open, as was the restaurant. I remembered it as being fairly good but it has really improved and is far more modern cuisine than most of the local restaurants. The service was impeccable and my steak tartare was created for me at the table with all the usual ingredients plus a slug of brandy. Totally delicious! The wine list was extensive but not expensive. Definitely going to Re-visit regularly as it is walkable from my apartment.
