Fonda El Postillon

A fabulous find! We made our reservation prior to our week in Alhaurin El Grande as the restaurant was highly recommended by friends who live locally. We booked for the night before we flew home to the UK and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is beautiful, we were greeted by Kairi one of the owners on arrival and shown to our table and we were offered drinks whilst we settled in. The menu is fabulous, traditional dishes mixed with more contemporary offerings however once we had read through 5 out of the 6 of us went for the same! French onion soup (Gratinated onion soup), some garlic snails to share, followed by the Tournedos “El Postillón”, a stunning cut of beef fillet topped with Foie Gras, shaved black truffle and a port wine sauce. Unquestionably the best fillet steak I have had for some time. To end the meal we ordered 3 creme brulees to fight over between us! Hopefully we will be visiting Alhaurin El Grande again soon, when we do we will be sure to book an evening at Fonda El Postillon again.

Gorgeous food as always in a gorgeous setting . Wonderful service . I had smoked salmon salad followed by a perfect duck confit . I love this restaurant!!!

We first experienced this restaurant 2 years ago and decided to return. During this year's holiday as it was previously very memorable. Tonight did not disappoint. We were first to arrive but the restaurant soon filled up, and was full, good for a Wednesday. One waitress looked after all 20 covers with such ease and efficiency. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We had foie, French onion soup, lobster ravioli, duck confit, 3 sides two desserts, couple of drinks and a bottle of red. 108.50 Euros. Excellent value, we booked again before we go home

From incoming a pair of boletus croquettes, of main, a raviolis filled with lobster saffron sauce, and, to finish, a hot apple pie soaked in bald, with a cold ball of vanilla ice cream. all of this accompanied by a good pink rye at the beginning and red to finish. all this exquisitely prepared and excellently served in a beautiful place adorned with the best of the drops. dream.

Magnifies dinner, delicious escargots and very abundant and juicy duck. the recommended wine was the ideal complement. very friendly staff, he waited for us to end quietly despite being the last. Very nice evening.
