Chicken Shack Motel - Algoma

While on route from Kenora to Eastern Ontario, we called to reserve a room. The owners Jo-Anne and Les were very helpful and accommodating. They agreed to have our meal ready even though the food shack had been closed for almost 2 hours. Les had...us call in 30 minutes before arrival so that he could reopen the shack and cook our meal. The food was very good.The room was clean and beds comfortable. I would stay here again

The motel rooms are small but clean. The food is excellent! The owners do all they can to make your stay enjoyable.

We were in a bit of a pinch and needed a room. We were stopped next door to the Chicken Shack where they have gas, washrooms, and a variety of shops (and the friendliest of staff They recommended us to go to the Chicken Shack....Basically, it's a 5 room motel with a chip truck. They also have an older camper parked out back they rent too. The owners boasted that the rooms were renovated, but the bathrooms were out of the 70s. Pink. There was no hydro outlets in the bathroom. The wifi they offer didn't quite have a strong enough signal; it kept cutting out on us. Despite that, it was the room we needed for the night. Nothing fancy, but it did the trick... easy supper

We stopped here for a night. It was very clean and the owners were very nice and friendly. The rate for the night was great. We ordered the chicken for dinner and it was brought right to our room. Tasted wonderful. The only thing not...so great is that it was so hot and humid out and there is no air conditioning. They do provide a nice big fan which helped a lot and it did cool down overnight because you are near the lake. They are about a ten minute walk from the beach which is a little awkward to get to. You have to walk across the highway and down a path to get there. The beach is nice and secluded when you get there. Can't wait to go back for another stay.

Looks like you're fooling! the rooms are pretty clean. very poor wifi. bathroom outdated and shed. bed. good customer service.
