China Moon - Algoma

After last year, I decided to come back and eat here again. However, I did eat out again- but don't let the outside fool you. The inside is nice with air conditioning, lovely Chinese scroll paintings and a TV. The TV has Chinese shows on them however. They have two main things on their menu, American and Chinese- however I have only ate from the Chinese menu. Today, I ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and Steamed Broccoli, which they said it would be done in 15-20 Minutes. It was done in 10. The Lo Mein was generous in proportion, and with a lovely sweeter taste with carrots, beansprouts and small bits of tender chicken all cooked to perfection. The broccoli, which I traditionally eat with salt and butter came steamed with a side of a sauce. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it tastes good. I suggest dinning in once and awhile, but if you aren't up for an almost always quiet dinning experience, dine out and taste amazing chinese food.

We ordered take out, the restaurant is somewhat dismal doesn't have a great atmosphere, so most get take out. The food is pretty okay it's in town, so we thought we'd try them again, support the local business. While the food tasted good, it was disappointing as it was at least 60% breading the chicken that was there was hard dry. Some of the pieces were all breading. We got Sweet Sour Chicken and Honey Chicken, since we ordered over $25.00 we got an order of Crab Rangoons free. The Rangoons were small had a scant teaspoon of filling in each, so luckily they were free. Approx 2 yrs ago some people where I work ordered delivery from CM. I got General Taos Chicken, I ordered it regular spicy, like I always do. When it was delivered it was extra spicy so I couldn't eat it put it in the fridge. I took it home made it for lunch the next day. My husband took one bite said it was starting to spoil. I took off the breading ate just the chicken, he was right.

Outstanding Chinese food in the middle of nowhere. Huge portions for really good prices. Staff is always friendly and fast service. Highly recommend.

If I could give this a zero I would. We ordered hot and spicy chicken and spring rolls. The spring rolls were tiny and DEEP FRIED! The chicken in the Hot and Spicy Chicken was all chicken SKIN! I called them but they started that it was chicken breast. Not so. Do NOT order here!

Born and raised in Algoma but have been in CA for over 40 years where there is an abundance of authentic Chinese Food. Yet, on every trip to Algoma, the kids and I always make a point to eat at China Moon where we feel the food is as good as any Chinese food we get in CA. I just wish they would reopen indoor dining. No, it's nothing fancy, but we go there for the food and the home town feeling, not to feel like we're in a fancy restaurant. If you like great Chinese food, don't miss this place!
