Probably the best place to order food in alarm bays it is mainly because everywhere else is not open during the Kovid the only other place cost more and has slow service and smaller portions.
Thanks Dave Mona, of Bayside Grill, for the GREAT Club sandwich. I'll be back next time I'm in Alert Bay. KH from Calgary
We stumbled upon this restaurant as it was the only one open when we arrived. The service left something to be desired. We tried the chicken teriyaki Caesar salad, which was an unusual combination to say the least. Since there were limited options, we returned for lunch the next day, only to be disappointed with even worse service and below average food. If you can, I would suggest avoiding this place.
We were the first people in, the first to order. Four other groups came later, ordered later and were all served before us. Our order had been mistakenly given another. The owner and server were apologetic and eventually brought my dish, then a few minutes...later my wife 's. Famished, we finished them off. I then remembered I 'd ordered the tandoori chicken but had been brought a heavily sauced chicken instead, a different colour than the butter. The owner explained they don 't have a tandoori over, so I said they should not be offering tandoori chicken but chicken in a tandoori masala sauce which he admitted it was. He insisted he can call his dishes whatever he wants and no-one had ever objected before. I rejected that as dishonest. After this wholly dissatisfying experience I suggested he charge us only for the dish we ordered and not the one he mis-represented. He grew angry and ordered me out immediately, declaring loudly that I only wanted to be eating for free. So I left without paying anything, by his choice. I don 't recommend this place tho the food didn 't taste bad. The sauces were thick and rich, which I wanted to avoid by ordering the tandoori chicken. Adding the word massala to the chicken entry would at least make it honest. Sorry to this because I 'd normally want to support a family struggling to make a go of a restaurant with an adventurous cuisine.
