Large family restaurant with excellent cuisine and accurate service. Cool inside, when sun breaks records outside.

We called in on a day out to Barrigem Santa Clara. It is a large space with typical Portuguese decor. There is an adequate selection of dishes for lunch to choose from. The couvert consisted of bread, cheese and quince jelly. For mains we had...mixed cuts of black pork, grilled chicken and casserole of lamb. All of the food was tasty and well presented. We received friendly service and enjoyed our lunch.

Muito mau serviço. No meio de uma viagem de família paramos em Ourique para almoçar. Encontramos este restaurante e pensamos em entrar para comer. Éramos quatro pessoas entramos todos com máscara, desinfeta-mos as mãos e ficamos na entrada à espera que o empregado de mesa...nos viesse dizer onde nos podíamos sentar, o restaurante estava praticamente vazio, não estávamos à espera em cima de ninguém, entretanto vem o empregado de mesa e começa a falar nos mal quase a gritar têm de ir lá pra fora não pode esperar cá dentro e a fazer gestos com as mãos da mesma maneira que se enxota um bicho ou um cão. Não gostamos e fomos embora. A comida até pode ser boa mas se não há maneiras de falar com as pessoas não há vontade de lá voltar. Very bad service. In the middle of a family trip we stopped in Ourique to have something to eat. We found this restaurant and we thought it seemed like a good place to go. We were people, all wearing masks and we all cleaned our hands with the special alcohol and waited for the waiter to tell us where we could sit. The restaurant was almost empty we were all in the entrance distant from everyone else inside the restaurant, the waiter comes and almost screams at us saying you have to go outside you can't wait here but with really bad manners and making a gesture with his hands like he was tapping a bug or a dog to go away. We didn't like it thought it was really rude of them so we left. Maybe the food is good but if the service is bad no one want to come back there.

About off the so stopped at Ourike to break up the journey from Lisbon to the Algarve. Failed to find the top rated restaurants so stopped here as handy for the main route in and out. Service was good and food ok ..nothing special but filling. As you might expect no English spoken so bring you your dictionary or just go for it!
