We stumbled across this place when the Nikita restaurant was full. In hindsight I’m glad we choose Mar Azul as the total experience was first class. The service was excellent and the food was for me superb. Smallish dishes sharing concept. We let the waiter guide us through the amount to order. He got it right. The seared tuna was the best I have ever had. I’m pretty confident all the dishes would great. We had 3 dishes in total, bread, dessert and a couple of coffees for 50 euros. I’m not a one for writing restaurant reviews however the total meal was so good I thought I would share the experience. Nice location in a small square overlooking the river was a bonus. A definite recommend.

A delicious meal of carefully cooked and beautifully presented food. Wonderful gem of a restaurant. Will be back when next in Tavira. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely tapas lunch. Very good options for vegetarians. Highly recommend the “fish” of the garden vegetable gyozas. Excellent service.
