Contribuiți la feedbackWe'd often talked of coming here for dinner. Just never got round to it. Well last week we just decided to go. Beautiful atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food. Very well priced and loads to chhose from. A little secret tucked away in Wodonga. You really should try it out
The Wodonga Indian restaurant has deteriorated considerably over the last 9 to 12 months. My guess is that Wodonga being a one horse town and very few people are out after 6 pm.My guess is that the Indian Tandoori restaurant is doing it hard and ALL ingredients are pre-cooked for all the evenings meals. most dishes are now similar in taste, with the exception of chili content. My family are all of the same opinion and we now limit our visits because of the "TAKEAWAY" stile taste and appearance.Sad story as Wodonga really needs at least one good Indian food restaurant.
Have been coming here on way back from Sydney for quite a few years. Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. A bit tired inside and food alright but not amazing - I would say average compared to other Indian places we frequent including takeaway places. Wonder why reviews in bathroom are from 2012. Are there new owners??
Hanging out for a curry we had a choice of 2 indian restaurants in Wodonga - we may well have chosen the wrong one. The waitress was exceptional - helpful, courteous and friendly - From here it was pretty much down hill. The Kashmiri Pulao ($5.90) was gluggy overcooked rice (more like congee) with sultanas - and very little else. We opted for a mixed tandoori entrée@ $21.90- the lamb kebab was sensational but the chicken tikka was underspiced and undercooked. We ordered Mushroom Dahi $16.90 and a Hot lamb vindaloo $19.90 - the mushroom curry was packed with potatoes and very few mushrooms, and was swimming in an insipid pool of yoghurt. Needed something, MAYBE SEASONING- so I mixed my share with the vindaloo - which was really hot so it improved the taste somewhat. The vindaloo was okay but reminded me of one of those curries out of a jar rather than using fresh ingredients. Maybe we chose the wrong stuff, but when the table next to us asked for salt and pepper I knew we were correct in assuming the food was not to flash.Drinks were reasonably priced - A glass of house red is $7.90 and a light beer $5.90. This reminded me of the Indian food we had in Chelmsford st Indian nights- Overpromised and Under delivered.
Couldn't fault the food or the service. Totally authentic food. Friendly staff with reasonable pricing across the board.
