The Salt Yard West - Albuquerque

The Salt Yard West is my Cheers. I love coming here. From the fun games to the live music and DJs. The bar staff here is awesome. My Wife and l love Jaycee the best and sweetest bartender around. Some of my favorite people here in New MexicoStephanie and Big Ben (managers)Ian, Daisia. Karla, Jackie bartenders love them all. Also the bar back Kevin is super cool toosports.They have food here but it's not a restaurant it's a place to hang out with friends and enjoy yourself. I recommendeveryone l talk to to come here and hang out have a little patience cause the line gets long on certain nights but it's worthit. They have a new manager here Andrew, nice guy and easy to talk to. Just be aware this is not the place to come if you expectto sit at a table and be served it's a backyard style hangout with friends type of a place.

What is up with this place. I work up at Intel and there are 2000 construction workers there. I would think this place should be packed every day by 430. We got there at 5 and sat at a table 10 feet from the bar. The bartender was at the other end talkingto the manager. Instead of coming down and even talking to us from behind the bar, the manager walked all the way across theroom and told us we had to go to the bar to order drinks. There was no one else in the place. Horrible service. No wonder therewas nobody there. They are missing an opportunity to have a booming happy hour business if they could just have good service. Ithink their days are numbered.

I?m afraid I cannot recommend this venue. We went to see a drag show last night, and the show itself was everything I wanted, but the venue was poorly managed. Some adjustments were made during the night after some customers complained that helped makethings more comfortable, but these were things that should have been done at the outset. Here were the main issues: 1. Notenough bartenders. The line was incredibly slow and long. 2. Then, they did add another line by letting people who got in lineafter us form a line. To be clear, they started this new line from the middle of the line we were already in, so people who werebehind us in line got drinks before we did. After we had been waiting 30 minutes in line for a drink, it just seemed reallyunfair. A man behind us was so mad and kept groaning to us and his own party that he couldn?t believe it. 3. This is thebiggest one, which is crowd control. It was?lacking. We paid extra for table seats near the front, and so many people who didn?tpay for the seats just came and stood in our space and in front of us. Someone (maybe a manager? asked the people to move backa couple of times and we had to kind of barricade ourselves in. I didn?t see the first part of the show very well and nearly gotinto a fight with a drunk woman who came to the front and danced for about half the show, standing in front of my table andbumping me a lot as she danced. I tried to be polite, and she did move after someone complained, but it took too long and mademe really uncomfortable. I regret spending the extra money. I loved the show, but overall the experience still ended up beingsoured for us and seemed pretty unfair. It just doesn?t seem to be that nice of a venue, so take your money elsewhere. (Editswere for clarification and to change my rating to one star. Upon further reflection, two stars was far too generous of me. Thiswas about a week ago.

Food, drinks and atmosphere are excellent! Management staff is terrible. Probably shouldn?t treat people horribly based on what you assume their political affiliation is. My husband was immediately judged by his attire by someone in management and the waywe were greeted and spoken to reflected it. We were considering hosting a large company event there but have decided against itnow.

Great time had by all in my group of friends. It was a Sunday when we went so it wasn't crazy busy. I wasn't a fan of the fried foods we did have but maybe I hadn't been drinking enough ????. Overall we enjoyed our time and the bartender was great. Ididn't get his name but he helped make a few drinks for me and needs to name is signature drink he made for me when there was nomint for my mojito.
