Smallcakes A Cupcakery - Albuquerque

This small cupcake business send out regular coupons in the weekly Value Pak. They have a very small expiration date that if one is elderly and with bad sight are not even noticeable. Twice I’ve been here with a coupon to only to be told it was out expiration by a couple of days and that THEY WOULD NOT HONOR IT! Both time the employees were very rude a out it. It was almost embarrassing. I am so surprised a small bakery business was so ready and able to walk business due to a couple a day expiration. Sad. Never going back ever!!

I stopped by today to get some cupcakes for our offices June birthdays. In truth a couple would be going to my kids as well. The owner was super helpful, let me know when gluten free options are available( as it’s a dietary concern for one of the birthday people)and was pleasant to talk with. The cupcakes were all delicious, the wedding cake divine. Can’t thank you enough , we will definitely be back.

However, when I went to pick up the order, I was very disappointed to discover that no note had been left and I received an assortment instead of the flavors I had requested. When I explained the situation to the employee, their response was, "I'm not sure, but we don’t allow customization of minis." The employee was polite and allowed me to select four regular-sized cupcakes; they even offered me a dozen, but I only needed enough for four people, which is why the mini sizes would have been perfect. Now, let's talk about the cupcakes themselves. They were quite bland. The cake lacked flavor, and my entire family felt the same way. The only taste that stood out came from the excessively sweet frosting. While we did enjoy the frosting, it was overwhelmingly sweet. Overall, we were all pretty disappointed with the cupcakes. Given this unsatisfactory experience and the lackluster taste, I don't think I'll be returning, and I'm not sure my family will either. I really wanted to love these cupcakes, but they ultimately fell short of my expectations.

Gluten free cupcakes are delicious! Can’t even tell they are different. Tried the vanilla birthday cake frosting and chocolate. Gluten free cupcakes made on Friday. They were stored covered and the staff were very friendly and helpful. You get to choose your frosting flavor. Thank you Smallcakes!
