Palacete - Albufeira

We went to have the fantastic seafood that we had in May 23 , a waitress came to take our order and we requested the dressed crab she told us that it would take an hour to prep , ok I’ll have 6 oysters she said I think we have some , she then asked for our order , assumed that the Oysters would be on the way , no ! order came up but asked where are the Oysters she said haven’t got any . Don’t know why she was doing this so after the meal I spoke to the owner , explained the situation and he said he had oysters and dressed crab available I know what I would do with this waitress but that’s up to the owner , all I can say if you do go don’t deal with her and order.via the owner ,the sea food is excellent, if you can get it !

Slightly out of the way venue with another restaurant next door. Nice outdoor space as well as inside. Due to the temperature we decided to sit inside. We had fancied something “Portuguese” and I had seen that a “Cataplana” looked similar in the images I had seen to a paella. There was a meat cataplana on the menu so that was for us so when the waiter came up we ordered calamari, garlic bread and the Cataplana (without asking any questions) Appetisers we’re great along with the starters. The cataplana came up in a bit lidded wok like pan and on opening it I realised my mistake. Basically a cataplana base is mussels and clams and a meat cataplana has meat added. While not allergic to shellfish I do avoid eating it. The waiter was horrified that he hadn’t asked if we knew what was in it and offered to cook us something else. But we agreed to stay with why we had and just avoid the shellfish. In the end all was fine, food tasted lovely and apart from my partner not enjoying looking at the crab tank, I would go back. The big skewers looked great!

The food here is incredible. The service is very good. Visit this restaurant. We had the seafood rice. Such excellent value and incredible flavours. Lobsters, razor clams, prawns, langastines, The food is exquisite.

Queríamos experimentar um restaurante típico português e não ficamos desapontados. A recepção é calorosa, somos muito bem servidos e os pratos são excelentes! Menção especial à garçonete sorridente e atenciosa Recomendo
