The food was very good and the service excellent. Some previous revewers have said that the 'spicy' dishes were a little bland - I asked the waitress if it was possible to do them a bit hotter, and the kitchen duly obliged with a great spicy sauce. We really ate our fill and with a few chinese beers, the bill was under 50 euros.
With all the other restaurants closed on a monday, we decided to go asian for a change.Bad choice this time.Friendly service, but the food was not up to the level of praise we read in the comments. The Baie d'Halong special entree for 2 was soaking in oil ( frying oil not at temperature yet ?) and the maincourse ( advertised as piquante) bland and not very appealing.Would not eat there again, even on a monday!
Normally in Albi we eat in one of the cafes in the Place Vigan, always French and very traditional so it was with some trepidation that we sought out this little restaurant which is slightly off the beaten track. I am so glad we did. The food was delicious and it was actually pleasant to eat a lighter Asian style meal for lunch. I has a piquant chicken with noodles and John had a delicious coconut milk chicken curry with plain rice. We also had some yummy crispy prawn wontons, coffee, wine and mineral water all for less than 30 Euros. I would definitely eat here again. The dining room was cool and attractively decorated and service was attentive and helpful. It is certainly worth walking down the Rue de la Croix Verte which does not look all that promising, but persevere and look for the oriental style entrance and you won't be disappointed.
