Contribuiți la feedbackPerfect leitão. Nice restaurant. Very attentive staff, friendly and helpful. The leitão was very, very good. Fresh and tender meat. The sauce was a bit too spicy for me. The crisp potatoes were from another world. We also asked for steak, which was perfect too.
We were hungry on our road trip through Portugal and found this on trip advisor. It was a Tuesday around 11:30 and ALL of the tables were reserved for the day! Plus the place was much nicer inside than we expected. Very fancy actually. Thank goodness the nice server allowed us to eat there, even though all the tables were reserved. But I recommend to make a reservation if you can! All the reviews are right- it’s delicious and a bit expensive but worth every penny. If I lived in this area, I would eat here twice a week.
As recommended by a local Portuguese, we went to this restaurant for dinner to try the famous food in Portugal, the roasted pig. Once we arrived, it served bread, olives and ham as appetizers. When the pig was ready, it served a big bowl of green salad, a plate of potatoes chips and some oranges. The roasted pig was cut into pieces. The skin was crispy while the meat was juicy. The pig was served with a sauce which was a little bit spicy, but it enriched the flavor. It was very delicious. I took some salad to balance my diet, it was a perfect match. After the meal, I took the orange and I am told it was grown in Portugal. It was fresh juicy but not too sweet. I really enjoyed this meal.
On our way to Serra da Estrela we dropped in on this place as recommended. We were surprised to find that all tables for Thursday and thought that this was a good sign. So, we detoured to Aveiro and returned for a late lunch. To say that the roast piglet (leitão-you can order it by weight) melted in your mouth like butter and that the homemade chips were crispy and succulent is no exaggeration. The service was prompt and pleasant, the decoration and disribution sparse but cozy. White linen tablecloths and napkins. The natas de ceu (heavenly cream) was simply divine. Reasonable price.
Certainly very good leitoes and very nice wine list. We couldn't stop eating and enjoying the simple but very rich in taste food! Great experience
