Contribuiți la feedbackFantastic food and service! Had the steak it yes it was $50 but it was easily a $50 steak with unique sides like potato gratin and stout braised shallots. Wine and dessert were exceptional too!
Do not bother visiting this once prestigious hotel, as it has deteriorated significantly. The atmosphere is lacking and the high prices will prevent us from returning; $44 for two glasses of wine is just one example of the outrageous costs at this establishment.
Venue looked nice and the menu. Unfortunately when the food arrived, very disappointed. 2 buttermilk chicken dishes 3 small drumsticks and mash more than $30, fish special was 2 bites must have been whitebait) and the handmade pasta well if it was homemade, it was stored for a very long time and tasted like home brand pasta spiral. When asked by the wait staff how the food was we were honest, the parmi was excellent but the rest was very much lacking for the price point. She did offer a refund on food, but the manager came out and would not listen to feedback/concerns and would not refund. In truth we weren’t seeking a refund, sometimes you go out and have terrible food and that’s that. It’s what the wait staff offered to our group of 5, where 4 plates out of 7 were not of the expected quality as advertised on the menu or the price point. Save your time, money and ultimate disappointment and choose elsewhere. I regret not reading the reviews prior to going there.
During my visit to Albany with my family, we decided to stop at this restaurant for a drink because we were drawn to the name. The bartender was extremely helpful in assisting us with choosing our drinks. The beer he suggested was fantastic and it is brewed on site. They also make their own gin, offering both White and Pink varieties. I highly recommend grabbing a drink or even trying out their impressive menu. Unfortunately, we didn't have the chance to eat as the kitchen wasn't open for another hour, but we definitely would have if we could.
Went to try out the new White Star menu for lunch, hadn't been since new owners took over, all I can say is don't waste your money, firstly the menu was hard to read, burgers where expensive and a friends burger was cold and horrible, I had chicken parmy it was over cooked, dry snd had burnt edges, chips were undercooked, coleslaw was boring and all this for $32 bucks, decor dark and dingy, metal seats were uncomfortable, all in all was a great disappointment
