Longhorn Steakhouse - Albany

I had been raving to my family about how good Longhorn is, so for Mother’s Day, some relatives and I decided to take my grandmother there. Once we were finally seated, it took our waitress at least 30 minutes to take our drink order. Meanwhile, everyone around us, who were white, received their meals promptly. We ended up being there for 2.5 hours, and out of our party of 22, only 6 people received their food. My grandmother didn't get anything to eat at all, and we eventually had to take her somewhere else to find a meal. I will not be returning.

I proudly told some of my family members how great the food is at Longhorn, so we decided to take my grandmother there for Mother's Day. However, when we were finally seated, it took our waitress over 30 minutes just to take our drink orders. Meanwhile, everyone around us (who happened to be white) received their meals promptly. We spent a total of 2.5 hours there, and out of our party of 22, only 6 people were served food. My grandmother didn’t get anything to eat at all, so we had to take her somewhere else afterward. I won’t be going back.

I have to commend our waitress for being as friendly as she could under the circumstances, but she was certainly not set up for success when she was assigned so many guests at once. Despite the chaos, the food itself was excellent. Whenever our waitress was able to attend to us, she was apologetic and made an effort to engage with our table. While I couldn’t fault her dedication, it’s clear that the seating arrangements need improvement. The person responsible for seating guests should consider balancing the distribution of tables to ensure reasonable service for everyone, rather than just following a list. As for vegetarian options, there was a good variety available.

I enjoy Longhorn and usually find their salmon to be delicious. I've never been disappointed by their service until tonight. Unfortunately, the service was terrible; I had to wait almost an hour to be served. When the salmon finally arrived, it was underwhelming. I'll probably eat at Longhorn again, but not with this experience in mind.

It was a Sunday and very busy but we were seated as soon as a table was available. Was upfront about wait time. Service was very good. Waitress was nice, kept drinks filled, and kept us updated on the status of our order. Food was wonderful. The only place to get a steak just the way you want it.
