Casa Oaxaca - Albany

This charming little shop offers a wonderful selection of Mexican home products. They have everything from tortilla baskets and pottery to Christmas ornaments and rugs. All the items are beautiful and reasonably priced. The store owner, Carlos, is incredibly friendly! He’s always ready to answer your questions and even shares helpful tips on how to care for your purchases.

If you're in the San Francisco area and seeking exquisite Mexican folk art, Casa Oaxaca is the perfect destination for you. Additionally, if you have children who are interested in rock painting, check out the new book on Amazon titled "Rock Painting for Kids: Mexican Folk Art Style" by Mexican folk artist Maria Sandoval.

This is a fantastic spot for gift shopping! We visited to pick up a present for a friend in a nursing home to lift her spirits. The owner is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about all the products in the store. If you're in Albany and looking for gifts, definitely make sure to stop by!

The owner was warm and friendly, and he answered many questions we had. He also gave us interesting information about the origin and use of folk art we bought. The store had beautifully carved masks, dia de los muertos figures and tons of Nichos. It will be my place for Mexican folk art from here.

Casa Oaxaca is a cute and jammed pack store; a technicolour explosion. They have serapes, calacas, tin magnets, embroidered dresses, purses and every other thing you could think of from Mexico. What they don't have are affordable prices. I'm not going to pretend that I didn't mind surrendering $65 to the viejo who runs this shop. I really minded. But, his embroidered shirts are only $30. Still, it's worth a trip in checking out. I suppose when the only two stores I could find online in the area that sell the embroidered dresses are in Albany and East Oakland...this is the kind of store people who want to avoid East Oakland should come to. Personally, I'll deal with East Oakland next time.
