Contribuiți la feedbackTill now i thought that my favorite food was Burmese but surprise surprise. If you never had Cambodian food then go today. Full of flavors and spices. Take the special beef jerky which is pretty good. They have different types of drinks. Really nice
Wow! It's hard to believe I've been coming to Ty and Linda's restaurant for 18 years now. The first time, when they were still located off 8th and Alice St. a co-worker I was in training with suggested Cambodian food. Odd, it I started singing Holiday in Cambodia by the Dead Kennedys. Don't ask me why. I had no idea what to expect, it appeared to be a hold in the wall in a crappy part of Oakland. Not sure I could have been any more wrong. To this day, I've only ordered one dish. It was the same dish I ordered during my first lunch. Singapore Noodles with chicken. This dish is simple, pan-fried noodles in yellow curry powder, with bean sprouts, green onion and. Wedge of line. The chicken is added but I e had this dishes with just vegetables and it's just as good and flavorful. The curry isn't overpowering, but more than subtle, not spicy and brings the textures of the dish together. Top it off with their chili sauce. Oh boy! The chili sauce is amazing. Bottle this up and sell, you'd make a killing. It's some of the best I've ever had. Not for the faint of heart, it does pack a spicy punch to this noodle dish. While the food is amazing, we'll the noodle dish is. I've never heard any of ,y co-workers have a bad meal from them. Unfortunately, after their move to Alameda, the frequent visits stopped, no longer within walking distance. However, ever time I call and order, they know my voice and name. Ty, Linda and the entire staff are great people, very attentive and friendly. They have a fantastic restaurant that is thriving in downtown Alameda. Thanks for all the great Singapore Noodles dishes I've ordered from you. As long as I work in Oakland, you have a die hard regular.

The duck curry was fantastic! And the servers were really attentive. I'm definitely going to be back again.
My friend and I stopped by for lunch at Phnom Penh House because we wanted to try something new and both of us had never really had Cambodian food before! We arrived around 11:30 and were seated right away. There is an extensive menu and lots of good options to pick from. We opted to share a chicken dish and another noodle entree. 1) Slaap Moarn Borg (stuffed boneless chicken wings) The chicken was tender and juicy and the filling has a very nice lemongrass flavor. The filling was a good combination of bean threads, black mushroom, and onions. I just wish there were more on the plate! 2) Cha Kathiw (pan fried noodles) this noodle dish reminded of Pad Thai, but has a more tangy flavor, which I enjoyed. The noodles were cooked nicely with a good chew to it. My only comment is that there wasn't a lot of egg or chicken, but overall, the flavor was pleasant. I've never had Cambodian food previously, so I don't know how authentic this is, but overall, my friend and I enjoyed our meal!
