Ono Hawaiian Bbq - Alameda

The customer service at this restaurant is nonexistent. While the food isn't bad, it used to be my go-to lunch spot on my days off every other week. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning. I visited today to order takeout and was asked to leave because I had my dog with me; they didn't even bother to ask if he was a service animal, which he is. It's not surprising that this place has poor reviews; they clearly don't know what they're doing.

Hawaiian food never disappoints. I got the number 1 plate. Teriyaki chicken was nice and tender and well seasoned. Experience was what you would expect though. Servers were nice but tables were sticky.

I'm giving this place a 5-star rating primarily because of an employee named Amy. While the food is decent, Amy's customer service skills are truly outstanding.

As someone who was born and raised in Hawaii and now lives in the Bay Area, this restaurant truly satisfied my cravings for a plate lunch! The combination of BBQ chicken and katsu was fantastic, and I loved the self-serve katsu sauce. There's no need to drive to San Francisco or Milpitas for L&L anymore!

I dined here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Mix, and the portions were generous. The food was well-seasoned and perfectly grilled, and the rice was great—not too dry and just the right amount of sticky. I also appreciated the ample amount of cooked cabbage. The only suggestion I would make is to add a bit more flavor to the macaroni salad. Overall, I would definitely come back. Food: 5/5
