I had been wanting to visit Akashi restaurant for a while, and finally got the chance on a regular holiday. I arrived around 11:50 on a Wednesday and was surprised to see no line. However, by 13:30, there were already 10 people waiting inside and lining up outside. Fortunately, the wait was not too long as the service was fast. The restaurant is quite small, but the tamagoyaki (Akashiyaki) was worth the visit, although a bit pricier at 900 yen for 20 pieces. You can choose from three different flavors: salt, dashi, and sauce. I also recommend trying the Akashi cider, which was very delicious with its strong carbonation. Overall, it was a good experience and worth a visit.
We visited the restaurant about 30 minutes before closing time on a Sunday, so we were seated right away. The staff recommended three ways to enjoy the dish - with broth, salt, or sauce - but eating it with broth was the most delicious. There were 20 pieces in one serving, so it's best to order extra if you have two or more people, so you can enjoy the hot tamagoyaki. Drinking beer while enduring the heat is the best way to enjoy it.
