Pien Thai Cusine - Ajijic

Excellent Thai food! Actually, one of the best I ever had. The place is simple and the food is simply amazing. Great service and drinks too. Very recommended.

First, the restaurant Tepetate Thai. Pian, the original cook from Thailand has gone for several years and now has a restaurant some doors in the west of this place. Obviously when he left, he didn't train anyone how to cook Thai food and the results are abysmal. The spring rolls were a sloppy mess filled with chopped salad instead of rice noodles! The Tom Kai ga had no ginger or galley, but lots of sugar to really spoil the taste. The red curry with shrimp was the best of the dishes I had, but despite enough plump shrimp the taste was quite bland and one-dimensional. The lemongrastee was in the square, but good iced tea is not enough to ever bring me back here.

We go here about once a week...they always open by noon and the food is delicious. The menu is extensive. I recommend the chicken with mango sauce. A huge portion plus great flavor. The soups are also wonderful for a cool day in Ajijic.

I almost always enjoy lunch. Very good food and service. Can be a little expensive compared to other restaurants in the area, but this is to be expected because of the kitchen. But it's worth it.
