At the beginning we have eaten in some of the best restaurants in frnace and the united states. our dinner at pierre reboul stands as one of the best. in the choice I would eat for example at the pr again over guy savoy in couples. or le bernardin in new york. in the pr, who would think to have an amuse bouche of karamell panda cotta with foie gras? or a dessert with black pudding? they have a selection of three or six cures, please choose six; they will not regret it and make them crying. the sommelier is whimsical, kreatiw and entertaining and we had some pairings that I would never think but worked perfectly. the service was impeccably friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, without pretension. the environment is beautiful. comfortable, romantic, quiet, directly from a filmet. we will be back at any time. it was the highlight of our journey.
I agree with Cecelia, a previous reviewer: my visit was a disaster: cold, unwelcome greeting, followed by a long wait for a menu, another long wait to get the maitre d 's attention--and a defensive response when I pointed this out. Worse: the cuisine wasn 't impressive....My men atypique was mediocre: the starter was a crab dish which had little subtlety or flavor. The main course--fish--was overpowered by soy sauce, again without subtlety. And the beef/carrot dish was undistinguished as well. Less important, but: poor selection of wines: virtually none from the wonderful vineyards of Aix. To top it off, my bill contained two errors: I was wrongly charged for bottled water, that I hadn 't ordered and hadn 't been provided; and for coffee--similarly, neither ordered nor provided. Final irritation: I e-mailed the restaurant twice to share my complaints--and never received a response. One can do far better in the Aix region, such as at the nearby star restaurants at Ventebren and Le Thelonet (both located in far lovelier neighborhoods, with more gracious service, and superior cuisine.
The food quality is really nice. The restaurant is wonderful. Definitely a place to go. The staff is very friendly.
Beautiful decor, pleasant atmosphere, warm welcome and impeccable service. a glass of kir and a delicious amuse-bouche opens the meal. I took a dish with three fishes and my spouse a meat: rich and tasteful. for dessert, limoncello tiramisu for me and chocolate-focused heart for him: excellent! we recommend this address where we will return with pleasure.
