Una Mas Taqueria - Aiken

I love this fun new atmosphere that's beginning to emerge in Downtown Aiken. Let's keep this rolling with more restaurants like Una Mas. The meats are super flavorful, the staff is fast and polite, and the ambiance and cool. Treat yourself and head down and grab a couple tacos tonight in Aiken.

A perfect example of a great restaurant that was ruined by success. Went from a great little taqueria to a sit down restaurant. Many of the best things on the menu were removed and the prices went through the roof. Sad to see one of my favorite places in town ruin their own business.

I had a chicken salad there recently and it was excellent!!!! Service and cleanliness also great!

Ok so I have tried most all of the Mexican restaurants in Aiken, and this is by far the best one. It's a counter service taqueria nestled in downtown Aiken, but man do they deliver big. Even Though it's a counter service place, they bring you your food and take your plates when you are done. The food is phenomenal as well. We got their chips and salsa and added their guacamole and corn con queso. Their salsa was very good. The corn con queso was very good. It was a white cheese with corn and tomatoes (Cooked in it). It was piping hit too, so the cheese was nice and thin (it didn't start to get that thick gross texture). The guacamole was the best of the 3 in my opinion. It had a good amount of lime which is necessary in a good guacamole and was so fresh. We absolutely loved it. For our meals, my wife and I got a different rice bowl so we could taste each other's. The rice bowls are your choice of protein (ground beef or pulled chicken, spicy pork, brisket, or blackened salmon) and the bowl itself has saffron rice, shredded cabbage, pick de gallo (which I left off as I'm not a big fan of pico), crema and cilantro. I got the pulled chicken and my wife got the brisket. They both come with a side of salsa, but her brisket also came with a side of sweet bbq sauce which was delicious. Both bowls were very tasty and I want to try them all at some point. They also have an array of hot sauce at the counter if you are so inclined, and I was, so I spiced mine up quite a bit. The guy at the counter checked on us a few times which was a pleasant surprise for a counter service place. The owner came by as well and checked on us, and we all had a pleasant conversation. (I'm very chatty and he happily obliged me). The decor is also very nice and they have been there just over a year. We Will definitely make this a place to visit anytime we come back to visit. Do yourselves a favor and do not miss this place. They are worth the trip downtown, I promise!
