I ordered the beef pho and vietnamese egg rolls. both were incredibly delicious. I highly recommend this place. the waitress was very friendly and fast to our meal. If I lived here, I would often visit.
First time trying this place out brought the whole family I always order the vermicelli w/egg rolls which was really good family ordered the kalbi/shrimp rice plate, wonton saimin soup, curry with tofu and shrimp pho everyone enjoyed there fish the portion was satisfying service was great and the atmosphere was really private how the tables are set up.
This review is just for the pho. Frankly, pho is the only dish I really care about, though I enjoy an occasional vermicelli bowl, summer rolls, or spring rolls. I 've been a pho natic since my college days, enjoying pho in San Diego 's City Heights and even Orange County 's Little Saigon. I love pho so much, I sometimes choose it over ramen or a fancy meal. I 'm glad my husband suggested this spot for dinner, allowing me to give it another chance a couple years after mistakenly thinking the pho wasn 't all that (it was actually my fault, I forgot to order the steak on my pho on the side, affecting the pho experience for me! You may be thinking, Aiea has lots of pho choices or all pho tastes the same. So how does Pho Five O stand out? CLEAN, BUT BEEFY PHO BROTH This restaurant must have taken my cousin in law 's Yelp review to heart because the pho broth wasn 't bland to me. The broth was actually pretty flavorful and CLEAN to me. Ample amount of noodles and meat in my medium bowl of steak and brisket, and I remembered to order steak on the side this time! My husband demolished his large bowl of steak and tendon pho. Standard condiments and side veggies were included. Vietnamese coffee was served in a styrofoam cup. CUSTOMER SERVICE No kidding, I observed three takeout order pickups in the time we dined here, and all three and the hostess were personable to each other, from I hope you stay safe to your son is big and just had a haircut! That told me these customers were regulars. The same hostess greeted my husband and I warmly upon entering, something you don 't always see in mom and pop Vietnamese joints. Ranking all the pho in Aiea, I 'd say this place is behind my other favorite Aiea pho by the skin of their teeth, all because the other place has a slightly beefier flavor, and more meat and size options, though the other place gets pretty busy. Pho Five O is still better than the rest of Aiea 's pho, though I haven 't tried the newest addition yet. Come here for a nice pho broth, nice customer service, and no wait times. Waimalu Shopping Center has lots of ono grinds, and Pho Five O is definitely one of them!
Been coming here and supporting this business for 10 years. Usually come once a week even during the pandemic with all of the restrictions I have supported this business OVER and OVER even when the establishment next door has a line and nobody seems to be in this restaurant at all I still remained loyal to them because I liked their food and up until now the people. Before I say this I want to say that my mother is Vietnamese. I know how the typical stereotype goes with this nationally. So here is my problem. I began doing takeout more due to covid and after all these years I got home to realize that my order was wrong. I called and the lady assured me that the next time I came she would resolve it by not charging me for extra meat because I ALWAYS order extra meat with the #47 (no other order). Oh and the day of the wrong order I asked for extra sauce (I ordered 3 things) and she literally gave me 3 small containers 1 of each type of sauce. Since I had ordered 3 things I asked for more sauce and in all my years of supporting she had the nerve to say $2 extra but if I sit in the restaurant I can use as much sauce as I want. That way my first sign that she could care less that I've been a loyal customer for all of these years. So the issue was today I went to order my usual #47 the only meal that I've ever requested extra meat for and she told me the extra meat she promised me was for the pho (which I never usually order to go but was the order she messed up). I told her I never have ordered extra meat for pho only the #47 and the way she explained when I called about the wrong order was...Next time you come I won't charge you for extra meat. Well that day came today and she did not do what she told me when THEY sent me home to eat a meal that was not correct. My point is that being supportive and loyal to this business after all these years and she was unable to accommodate me by not charging me for extra meat. Sad and ridiculous. You lost a long time customer forever. Because you wanted to charge me $2 for extra chicken. Horrible customer service.
Fantastic restaurant and experience with plentiful and great tasting authentic Vietnamese cuisine! They were kind enough to seat our party of five near their closing time! Big Kiné Mahalo and we’ll certainly be back again real soon! ??
