Merendero San Marcos - Aguascalientes

Great location with a great view of the famous church and the courtyard. the food was really delicious. they also get a good amount of food when they order. they are English friendly and worth a visit.

I ordered the Enchiladas Don Chendo (delicious, topped with carrots) and a lemonade....so I was amazed when the waiter brought me over half a dozen FREE SNACKS before my main dish arrived! Pasta salad, chicharron, nopal salad, ceviche, boiled onions, another creamy salad, tostadas,...lemon, salsa... it was a festival! Since all this is completely complementary...wow! The old-fashioned atmosphere created by the door or wall art (inner side), vs. the view of the Jardin San Marcos and the beautiful old church (outside) is a hard reputation... although I was happy outside. Tourists looking for a fantastic offer and a nostalgia and charm-infused brush with their own ideas how México Viejo should look and feel: this is your place. I've lived in Mexico for 5 years, but I've been re-enchanted by this place. Do not expect creative skin cuisine, fusion or Instagram-worthy moments. Tradition and FREE SNACKS are what you get... and you will be happy!

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, service and food. The cocktails were also excellent. Fantastic guacamole and delicious Enchiladas Mixto. The people here are very generous and friendly and went beyond and beyond to help us get a taxi. We have heard that this is a classic spot in Aguascalientes and can see why. (So loved that we were the only American tourists there.

Cenamos ahí con mis hijos, porque lejanos tarde y no había otro lugar por el hotel. Y pésimo, las botanas horribles de sabor, la comida toda pésima y fría. Por si fuera poco, los meseros flojos y de mala gana todo el tiempo. Me hubiera quedado con unas papas del Oxxo y me hubiera ido mucho mejor.

Tenía sed, estaba haciendo mucho calor y estaba buscando un lugar donde pudiera tomarme una cerveza... la cual vino acompañada por muchas botanas (entradas) y después pedí agua mineral y más botanas... mi plato quedó lleno. Me gustó el servicio, las botanas y el lugar estaba super agradable para mi que soy extranjera.
