The Breakfast Club

It?s been a while since I?ve been here and I left a not so favorable review so I thought I would give it a try again. Whatever happened since last time, it is much better. The business name says it all. They do breakfast and they do it well. I?ve driven by for a long time and have always seen long lines. Now I see why. The staff is as professional as the food is good. Great job guys!!

Cramped parking area, hard seats, a/c not working, overly salty turnip greens. Service adequate. Good entrees (fish and shrimp).

Sometimes, you just crave shrimp and grits for breakfast, and this place certainly delivers! Someone in the kitchen must have overheard me raving about the shrimp to my table, because they surprised me with an entire bowl of it—just for the fun of it! I've never actually needed a to-go box for breakfast before, but here, you'll definitely leave satisfied and full!

The food was average. The hashbrown casserole lacked flavor, tasting mostly like plain shredded potatoes without any seasoning or onions. The shrimp and grits were just okay; while the shrimp were well-seasoned, they had a rubbery texture, and the grits resembled instant ones. The chicken clearly came from frozen strips. However, the service was exceptional and truly made a difference in the overall experience.

They were busy because of graduation at MSU, which I understand can be a stressful time. However, we waited an hour for our food, and not once did anyone come over to check on us or communicate what was happening. If the kitchen is behind, they should just let us know. I left a tip because I know servers don’t earn enough, but overall, the experience was disappointing and the food was average.
