Paul's on Gouger - Adelaide

My friend and I visited this place for lunch for the first time, and it will be our last time. First of all, we ordered the FRUITS OF THE SEA - crumbed. She came back telling us it's grilled. Lucky this was easily fixed. Then later she forgot what my drink order was and came back to ask again. From the beginning, we made it clear to her that we would like to use our entertainment book voucher, although she mentioned at the beginning that we had to order two mains, and she never mentioned that we couldn't use it for the FRUITS OF THE SEA which costs equivalent to two mains. Also entertainment book voucher never says that you have to buy two mains to claim the voucher, but we were forced not to be able to use it in the end. The food? Really average, definitely not worth the price we paid, you can get better ones at Glenelg easily. We were really not happy with the service nor the experience, and we will not go back again.

Advertised fish and chips for $16,90, when I got bill they charged me $19.90, I told them they charged me to much and they replied, the computer said $19.90 and the sign was wrong, I spoke to the manager who told me they forgot to change the sign stating $16.90 last week so you have to pay $19.90, he then told waitress someone else complains about that yesterday, wonder how many people they have ripped off this week end.

Sadly all the seafood restaurants have gone from Gouger Street. We tried this place and were very happy with the meal. My King George was cooked beautifully.

If you want to get the worst food poisoning you've ever had go to Paul's. We had oysters, one of mine tasted a bit funny. I had the salt & pepper mix (prawns, scallops, calamari). My husband had grilled fish, prawns etc he didn't get sick. The little salad had a nice black hair in it. We noticed the chefs handled the fish etc with bare hands. Who knows how often kitchen staff wash their hands? I've been unwell for nearly 48 hours. We & all my family and friends will never go back.

I really enjoyed Paul's. The food and service were really good. I would particularly recommend grilled fish. Overall a great experience!
