Contribuiți la feedbackReally nice and easy tapas food in a cool environment. The kind of place you'd hang at on a weeknight catch up with friends and be really happy with your meal. I had the sesame seared tuna (5 star), soft shell crab and fillet mignon - great serving sizes but lacked a bit of seasoning on all meals if anything. Also had a margarita and that could have been handled with a bit more love. Overall I'd certainly go back it just wouldn't be my top pick in this highly competitive area.
Having been on the receiving end of bad service at Casablabla several years ago I have not returned until now. I am pleased to report that the service has improved in it's friendliness but is still poor in its understaffing. It was a busy Friday night, only one bar was open and there were regularly queues for drinks.
Casablabla is one of the busiest venues within the Peel/Leigh Street area. Like most of its neighbours, Casablabla is both a bar and restaurant, serving small plates and tapas as well as many cocktails and other drinks. We've previously been here for drinks, but visited for the first time for dinner on a busy Saturday night. We had no booking and inside was full so we ate at a table out the front. The food menu is exclusively tapas on weekends; pizzas are available after 10.30pm. Between four people we shared five plates: tuna sashimi, pork ribs, fillet steak, soft shell crab and pulled pork tacos. All were fresh, tasty and a generous size. The tuna and tacos were the best dishes and are recommended. The drinks list is also good: many craft beers, cocktails and SA wines to choose from. The service on our visit was slightly hit and miss, despite plenty of staff on. The first of our food and drinks arrived before the waitress finished processing our order - literally. Following that, the service was somewhat disorganised and a little slow. In all, We'll be back to Casablabla for dinner again to try more of the tapas and pizza, and recommend others who haven't yet to also get there.

We arrived for happy hour of $10 pizzas at 5pm only to be told the website we used was wrong and they would be full price. We told the we had to be gone by 6 for a show however we had to leave someone behind past 6:20 to bring the pizzas takeaway. Really shouldn't have to wait that long for a couple of pizzas and unapologetic staff.
