Ballaboosta - Adelaide

A return visit and still love it. The wood oven head chef (owner?) is a master of his art. Falafel and flamed sausages with a wonderful lemon sauce accompanied by the trademark puffy thin pittas was followed by a simple omelette with a nice salad and 2 gorgeous pizzas with bases only seen this thin in places like Naples. Really buzzy, great coffees. A winning formula. Going again (and again, and again).

Had heard great things about the food at Ballaboosta so was very excited when a friend suggested it for a girls dinner on a Thursday night. The atmosphere and food were faultless, unfortunately I cannot say the same for the service. Initially we were attended to by a lovely waiter and then later a waitress when ordering desserts. Once we received our desserts we were ignored. We had to wave a staff member over to order a bottle of wine, which she plonked down on the table no offer to change glasses as we had gone from white to red, and no pouring of said wine. It was very strange & rude. We all felt we had overstayed our welcome and left promptly after finishing our wine. Food 4/5 Atmosphere 3/5 Service 2/5 Hungryinhawthorn

Ballaboosta is a fabulous spot for breakfast and lunch. A really welcoming and attractive venue with a roaring wood oven in the corner churning out delicious, puffy thin flat breads and amazing pizzas. Possibly inspired by Ottolengi the menu glides from Naples to Beirut. A short wine list. I'm definitely going again. The place is great.

Lovely food, pizzas were amazing. Huge range on menu. Little pricey. Big range of drinks. Booked a week before and only had option of sitting outside, lucky it wasnt raining?

This is my neighbourhood local and it is really great. Because it is so busy the friendly service could be quicker but the food is divine and more interesting than cafe fare generally. The home made pitta come out in a puffed up cloud. The fish which is my standard dinner order is always fresh and accompanied by a wonderfully tart tahini dressing. Coffee is consistently good.
