Dave's Diner - Adamstown

This charming little diner has been around for as long as I can remember, and surprisingly, this was my first time stepping inside. The food was quite good. Please note that they only accept cash, but there is an ATM available if you need to withdraw some. As for accessibility, there is a ramp for wheelchair users.

This cozy little diner is a great spot with excellent service. My food arrived quickly and was served hot! I only rated the food a 4 out of 5, though, because I ordered the creamed chipped beef. The portion size was generous, but the flavor was just average. The beef was chopped very finely, and the gravy tasted more like sausage gravy. Perhaps it’s an old family recipe? I still recommend giving this place a try!

The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch and has a charming retro ambiance. I highly recommend the chicken salad sandwich – it was excellent! The waitstaff is very friendly as well.

How do you mess up basic breakfast in the heart of Amish country?

Had the sausage gravy over home fries. Gravy was nasty. Worst I have ever had. Side of sausage, 1 patty, it wasn't the best either. Daughter had chocolate chip pancakes with side bacon. Just like the atmosphere, the bacon was bland. I have had better and cheaper breakfasts at the chains. Would not recommend and would never stop here again. The waitress was pretty nice except for asking 5 times if I wanted a coffee refill which I refused every time. Also, the menu was very basic for a place that is mainly open for breakfast and lunch. Lastly, an hour after we ate there, both our stomachs were upset.
