Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

After waiting nearly two hours for our food, it was unfortunately inedible. I was left with a full plate and an empty stomach. The eggs were dry and lacked flavor, the sausage patty was tough and rubbery, the hash-brown casserole had a strange taste reminiscent of a child's art project gone wrong, and the gravy for the biscuits was akin to instant mashed potatoes. I noticed several tables around us also had full plates left untouched, which indicates that there's a real issue here.

We waited an hour to be seated as a party of five, even though larger groups of six and ten who arrived after us were seated first. Once we finally got a table, our waitress seemed to forget everything we asked for. When I approached a different waitress for our to-go order, I was met with attitude. After over two hours in the restaurant, our to-go order was still overlooked. The only highlight was the chicken, which took 45 minutes to arrive. As we left, I overheard the hostess making an inappropriate comment to another staff member. It felt like there was a lack of respect for Asian people and other people of color. If you're looking for faster service with a friendly vibe, I recommend heading to the Waffle House down the street instead.

When we were seated, there was still a tip left on the table by the previous customers. The host looked directly at my friend and bluntly said, "Don’t take that," as if we would. It would have been more appropriate for them to simply remove the tip without making a comment. After being seated and placing our orders, we waited about 30 minutes for our food, only to find that we were short on utensils. I asked for another set of utensils and some hot sauce, but the server never returned with them; it felt like she was deliberately avoiding us. If she was busy, she could have just let us know, and we would have understood. As a result, I ended up having to eat my meal with a knife, and I was left with an empty cup and bland food. Frustrated with the service, we eventually asked for the check and flagged down someone we assumed was the manager, requesting that the food we ordered for takeout be removed from our bill since we no longer wanted it. Just then, the server appeared and claimed that our food should be ready, staring at us instead of going to check in the back. Throughout our time there, we felt a sense of discrimination. As we walked to the front to settle the bill, the host watched us intently while conversing with another server. It felt as if they had never encountered a diverse group of people before.
