Went to celebrate an anniversary. Great place for a special event dinner. Dining in a private treehouse pod is quite an experience. Food was outstanding, as was the service. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
A charming and unusual restaurant, with private wooden pods that feel like little treehouses. Good service and very inventive menu: brunch included mimosas, baked brie with heirloom tomatoes topped with balsamic reduction, a large plate with stuffed french toast, sausage, salmon, vegetables, and potatoes, then a creme brulee coffee. But as much as we wanted to love it, we only liked it; we both thought the chef missed on many of the dishes (like the spicing on the stuffed french toast and the reduction on the salmon). We would go back, but the chef needs to hear a critique.
Food tasted like bad wedding food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
It has the potential to be a first-class experience but it was far from it. At $450 for four (including tip) for lunch we expected much MUCH more. Yes, you dine in the woods but not in the “tree tops” but on the forest floor under the trees, some of which are dead or dying, next to a dusty gravel road and parking lot. The staff was slow, noisy, and distracting in an otherwise tranquil setting (we still tipped 20% because that’s not their fault; poor management). Our food was bland and served well before our cocktails arrived. Our dessert was a poor attempt at Crème Brûlée. The coffee was good and poured from a Chemex. So, you do the math; a bowl of salad greens with fruit and undercooked salmon, one cocktail, an iffy dessert, and a decent cup of coffee. $450 for four.
