We stopped for lunch at the Peppermill to take advantage of their gluten-free lunch offerings. My wife loved the house, decor and her Shrimp Margarita (GF). She also was intrigued by the wall murals painted upstairs by a local artist. I had the Cave Club (full gluten) Sandwich and fries. It was excellent.
The restaurant is situated in a refurbished old house. Despite a large wedding party upstairs, our meal arrived promptly and exactly as we had requested.
We dined at a charming old house that was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our party of four had a delicious meal that included black bean quesadilla, shrimp po boy, chicken fingers with fries, and a pineapple chicken salad sandwich with potato soup and Caesar salad. Everything was excellent, as were the caramel cheesecake and lemon cello cake for dessert. We were pleased to find that the lunch menu, which offers smaller portions, is available during dinner hours.
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I would rate the place, staff, and food a five out of five. However, I would appreciate it if the next course could be served after I have finished my current dish. For example, while I was still enjoying my soup, the salad was already on the table. I was only halfway done with my salad when the main course arrived. It felt rushed, as I was not even finished with my main course when they started pushing desserts. It would have been nice to have a more leisurely dining experience, instead of feeling like we were being hurried out.
