Abuelo's Mexican - Abilene

It was way too easy to indulge. I distinctly remember at one point looking up and saying, "I don't even know what I'm eating, but it's amazing." We took our desserts home, and even an hour later, that was still the best flan I've ever had the pleasure of tasting.

I usually don't enjoy Mexican cuisine, but this restaurant completely changed my perspective—it was absolutely incredible. The portions were generous enough that I was able to bring some leftovers home. Debra, our server, was fantastic; she was so attentive that every time I tried to give my daughter some spicy salsa, she would appear right behind me. I will definitely be returning to this place. One of our meals had a spot in the chicken that I mistakenly thought was undercooked, but I was wrong. Even so, they replaced the entire dish without hesitation. Debra truly went above and beyond for us; she even offered to assist my daughter and my wife, who has a disability, to the restroom.

Our server was fantastic, and we've always had a great experience dining here. However, I do miss the old menu and the flavors it offered. "Mejor de la Casa" has now transitioned to "Ambassador."

Food was delicious. We had bacon wrapped shrimp. Wow! Our server was so friendly and personable and knew exactly how to mix any drink we wanted, timely too. Great experience. 5 stars!
