Best restaurant ever. Ever. The view left us speechless. The food was wholly memorable. The service was delightful. The atmosphere is relaxed and joyful. An absolute must.

The food was excellent. The restaurant has an external and an internal area. Inside, it was too hot, and there were many flies; the staff used a hand vacuum (to fail) to deal with the flies on a glass window. Just avoid the internal area, the outside looks better, and fly free

Found this restaurant via CBS Sunday Morning 9/1/24 episode.... and what a find! It's just south of Pfeiffer State Park on PCH, a most lovely drive from the north. Parking was easy, a bit of a wait (although less of a wait than we were told) Service 5 Star Food 5 Star ...and what a view! The menu is not long; we highly recommend Ambrosia burger, steak and bean salad .

The views are what makes this place! Food is okay simple menu. All the service people were very pleasant.

Wonderful food with terrific ocean views in a casual atmosphere make Nepenthe a highlight for any trip to Big Sur. Staff is attentive and friendly and the menu has something for everyone.
