The Square Diner - Aberdeenshire

I had a delicious banana split and fish and chips at this restaurant we stumbled upon randomly. Both dishes were absolutely amazing! The banana split was topped with battered banana slices, a unique twist that I had never seen before. I'm so glad we found this place!

My father and I have been traveling from Glengormley, Newtownabbey for a long time to eat at your restaurant. Today, after waiting for 15 minutes, we had to ask someone to take our order. After waiting another 25 minutes, I asked if we could have our cups of tea while waiting. After ordering for 45 minutes, we were then told that they couldn't make my dad's order of a toasted soda because the restaurant was too busy. He ordered a fish instead. After waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, I had to wait at the counter for 5 minutes for someone to speak to me. When I mentioned that we were leaving, there was no argument or indication that our order was being processed. This was supposed to be a special treat for Father's Day, and I am extremely disappointed. If we had been informed of the long wait, we would not have wasted 1 hour and 20 minutes for nothing. It really spoiled my elderly father's special day. Orders were still being taken for dine-in and takeout even though it was clear that the kitchen was struggling to keep up.

Food is great the staff are very friendly and professional lovely experience every time

The restaurant has new owners, but the menu and food remain excellent. I ordered a chicken burger and fries which were delicious, as were the other three meals we tried.

Amazing food and great value for money. Staff are really helpful with great customer care.
